Ec chemotherapy

Hi,

I'm currently on paclitaxel every week for 12 weeks (6 completed) and carboplatin every 3 weeks. On the 23rd December I go onto EC and have heard awful stories about it and it's nickname 'the red devil'. Just wandering what people's experiences are with it and if it's all bad? I'll be having 4 rounds of it.

Just to add I have emetaphobia which is fear of vomit so the nausea is a real struggle for me.

Also I know it affects everyone differently but just want to prepare myself as much as possible.

    I hope your treatment is going well although I'm sorry for the worry the EC you're due to start next month is causing.

    We do have some information about EC on our website but if you'd like to talk through your concerns with one of our cancer nurses, they're available on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m.

    Hopefully some of our members who have had this chemo will share their experiences and advice with you soon but in the meantime, you're more than welcome to look for previous discussions about this on the forum by using the grey search box at the top of the page.
