G1 mucinous breast cancer

Hi all, my mum has recently been diagnosed with mucinous adenocarcinoma. It has been graded 1, around 2cm in size. We are waiting for a further tests, but I was wondering whether anyone one with the unfortunate experience, could share how long they have been waiting for the diagnosis, tests, treatment here in UK? Does it take long for the treatement to start (operation etc) after the initial diagnosis? Many thanks for any advice!

  • HI Doti,

A very warm welcome to our forum.

I am sorry to hear about your mum's diagnosis. Has she got mucinous breast carcinoma or mucinous adenocarcinoma? It sounds as if she has caught it early, which is good. Do you know what type of tests she is waiting for? Waiting times vary from test to test and also differ throughout the country. Once your mum has a diagnosis, treatment should take place quite quickly. If she has to heal after having had a biopsy, it can be about 6 weeks from diagnosis to treatment.

Please keep in touch and let us know how she gets on. We are always here for both of you.

    Kind regards,
