Diagnosed with follicular cancer

It's following 12 week wait for histology after hemithyroidectomy!

It was minimally invasive but now it's up to me what to do next with either monitoring or TT, I've been writing pros and cons of either but wanted to see if anyone had similar experiences?

  • Hey. I haven't had that experience exactly, but I did have papillary thyroid cancer four years ago. In my case, the tumour was 6.7cm and there were some lymph nodes affected, so there was no choice other than to have the entire thyroid removed.

All I can say is that my experience wasn't too bad. I've never had any problems due to the lack of thyroid. Feel no different than I did beforehand.

  • Hi mojmoj, my husband has FNHL, it took a while for diagnosis, he was going to be on watch and wait but in the end he had radiotherapy, 12 sessions to lymph nodes in his groin., he was fine having that, no problems at all. That was in June now he’s on 6 monthly check ups. He has other problems but the Lymphoma went well and only found on a CT scan so caught early I think. Good luck
