Hi I was diagnosed with invasive lobular breast cancer 3 months ago and have since had a full mastectomy and auxiliary clearance 4 weeks ago. Out of 18 nodes removed it was found that 13 of them were diseased so I had an urgent ct scan last Friday and am meeting with the onocolgist for the first time tomorrow to get my chemo schedule sorted etc.
I am a 41 year old single mum to a 2 year old and don’t have a great deal of support around to get ‘cancer’ support so thought I’d bite the bullet and join a group as everyone is going through similar and have an understanding of it all.
I was initially told that I would need a lumpectomy and a bit of radio but the mri results changed that quite dramatically, everything is happening so fast I feel like my feet haven’t touched the floor since June and it can get a bit overwhelming at times. My friends are amazing but don’t fully understand how I’m feeling xx
