Firstly great username - I may not be of any help, however I have come onto this site for the exact same reasons.
1 enlarged tonsil - over 4 months, sore throat ️, ear pain and mouth generally sore and the last month lymph nodes swelling.
I have never had tonsillitis or every suffered with tonsil pain prior. Went to doctors and was given 2 different types of antibiotics with no change. Mouth swap came back no infections. Referred to ENT within 5 days and had a camera put up my nose/back of throat. He noted the back of my tongue also had lymph node swelling (he used a more medical term which I can’t pronounce nor remember)
I have a ultrasound and biopsy booked in 2 days time on my lymph nodes and waiting a tonsillectomy to be booked, Sinister was mentioned in our chat.
Could these symptoms be something over than mouth cancer?
My dad was diagnosed with tonsil cancer in spring. His only symptom was a lump in his neck, he didn’t have any throat symptoms at all which is probably because the tonsil tumour was tiny (2mm)
He had surgery to remove the tonsils and a neck dissection to remove the lymph nodes and has just finished 30 sessions of radiotherapy. He’s doing extremely well now
Hi I've just had right tonsillectomy due yo it swelling so big it completely covered my airway after emergency surgery the doc said it look like lymphoma which has now been confirmed I had full body ct scan 2 days ago now waiting in appointments coming for haematology the wait is awful I just want to know what am dealing with to stop my mind going over board
