Hi there,
I was recently diagnosed with Stage 1A melonoma, the doctor is sure it was all removed in the biopsy but a WLE is required. Feeling quite overwhelmed and anxious but mostly grateful as I know that's a better outcome than it could have been.
I'm reluctant to tell my work because I find the subject a bit uncomfortable to discuss. Given that the doctor thinks it's been removed already, it seems irrelevant to tell them.
I am interested to know, however, what is the recovery like after a WLE? Can you go straight back to work? I work from home, but if it's going to be very painful or distracting and make working difficult I think I may need to let them know in advance in case I need time off.
Whilst this has been going on I've become concerned about a different mole, is it likely they could remove that in the same appointment at the hospital or should I be going back to the GP and dealing with it as a separate issue?
Thanks in advance, I've read these forums in the past and it's nice to know other people will understand.
