Hi Lottie,

You don't say where your mole was and this will make a difference with regards to your recovery and work etc because the WLE takes a wider sample of tissue and the scar will be larger than the initial excision.

If it's a lower limb or foot then it will take a little longer due to bearing weight and keeping off your feet. If it's between the shoulder blades, on the shoulder or the arm you will need to take care not to lift anything heavier than a full kettle or the stitches may burst. They will give you information about this at the WLE.

They won't remove the other mole you are worried about because it's a Plastic Surgeon that does the WLE whereas it's a Dermatologist that decides if something needs removing. I suggest you ring Dermatology and ask to speak to either the consultant you saw or their CSN (Cancer Specialist Nurse) and tell them about the new mole causing you concern. 

Of course it's entirely up to you whether you tell your employer about your diagnosis, however it may be helpful for them to be informed. Firstly, I don't know what work you do and whether it requires insurance cover, even when working from home. If you are insured by work, they really need to know about any changes which may negate the insurance if you haven't informed them. Also, you may be entitled to help with your working arrangements ie. adaptations to help you whilst recovering and also short working hours etc until fully recovered. Lastly, as a cancer patient you are covered under the Disability Act which employers have to abide by when dealing with an employee's sick leave etc.
