Hiya . Yes you need the line in and they add the contrast during the scan . I think my MRI lasted about 40mins or so . You’re put in feet first and face down and it’s much easier than I thought . I didn’t find it claustrophobic which was a plus . Please try not to worry about it . The radiographers are great at telling what they’re doing and why which helps .
