Triple negative breast cancer

Hi all, I first had cancer in 2021 endrometrial, had a total hysterctomy and thought things were looking up. Found a lump in my left breast and now diagnosed with tnbc !!!! . Surgeon advised ultrasound looked good and localised and no lymph nodes  stood out however I have had to go for a pet scan, am not sure why ??? .is this the norm ? . I am seeing  the oncologist on the 4th July so sort out my chemo schedule.  I have got a holiday booked to go on the 24th July for 2 weeks and am hoping that I can go before I start treatment, has anybody else manged to go away before . How long does it take to sort the treatment plan out ?

Thanks

  • Becs

bless you this big C sucks how are you supposed to tell your son that he can’t go away surely they can’t say no x

  • So sorry to hear this :(

I don’t have an answer to your question but I have to say, once clear, please ask for a full body scan. My partners mum was given a mammogram at the end of her tnbc treatment so she rung the bell to say she was clear but the cancer had spread to distant areas and of course a mammogram wouldn’t show that it had spread to her lungs, brain and adrenal gland!! I know treatment can take a while and it’s a long road but I wanted to pass this on. My partner mentioned this to them and all they said was that they were sorry a full body scan wasn’t done. Personally, I think a full body scan should always be done for tnbc because of the nature of the cancer.

I wish you all the best xx
