Skin cancer

Hi 

I've not long been diagnosed with skin cancer. I don't know what type yet. I have to have surgery tomorrow witch am very scared and nervous about. They said they need to remove the lump send it to the lab to test what type it is. Then they will know what other treatment I will need. I've already been through thyroid cancer. it will be 4 years this November I would have been cancer free. And now I've been diagnosed with skin cancer. Am so scared am only 40 years old and have had cancer twice now. I know I've already been through it once nd that was hard. Am scared to have to go through it again

    Hi Yvonne,

    I'm so sorry you now have a second cancer diagnosis and that you have to wait for biopsy results before you know which type it is.

    Hopefully it will be a BCC or SCC which have a very small chance of being invasive rather than melanoma. All skin cancers are treatable so don't lose heart.

    I hope you aren't waiting too long for the removal and results. Good luck and please let us know how you get on.

    Thank you so much I go in tomorrow for the operation so hopfully I find out soon after thank you for your kind words and support am so sorry to here u have stage 3 melanoma I wish u a speedy recovery
