I was diagnosed in March and have had all the scans and checks. Had markers fitted on 4th May and been for simulation on 16th May in Liverpool. I can only say all care has been billiant and they all make me feel my sight is important. I am in Scotland and have to travel for the PBT and they organised a hotel and train travel. All went like clockwork. I am due the PBT on 4th June for a week and then follow ups in cotland 6 weks later.
I have lost proper sight in y right eye just light and dark and blurry outlines. My left eye is almost perfect vision so i am very lucky.
Work have been great and i am working 2 hours and then an hour break rota as its hard to concentrate using just one eye. I hope this gets better once i have had treatment and recovery.
My melanoma is in the cillary body at the front of my eye and was not picked up at my eye test (with OCT scan) in November yet started giving me a shadow in February. I also have a "freckle" in my good eye which they will watch like a hawk!
My only down side was by coincidence i got a focal infection in my sinus just below my right eye which felt like the cancer spreading and 2 courses of antibiotics cured it.
My main worry is on the possible spread...i could live as i am today and i know i am to be scanned every 6 months for the next 10 years. I chose not to have the biopsy. Doe anyone get a result from that as ihave heard they are often inconclusive?
thanks
