Prostate cancer.

I've just been diagnosed with Prostate cancer it's been going on since my 1st MRI scan 18th Jan I had a PSA if 6.5 which I was told was highish..I feel fine a few water problems (going to wee) quite frequently.

Anyway before all this came about I promised my wife we'd have a nice holiday.

I doubt I would get any insurance now and if I did probably be out of our budget...Would any of you go on holiday without insurance and take a chance you'd be fine ...

Oh I've chosen to be monitored for a while rather than having radiotherapy right now...xxx

  • I was diagnosed in a similar way but psa was 25.

The disease progresses I'm at stage 4 now after 18 years. My advice is to get rid of the tumour; if it grows and the cancer moves to the margins of the gland and out beyond the gland you're probably on my route. The gland is tied into your flesh; it's not like an apple hanging on a tree that can be picked. I didn't have many problems with radiotherapy. They have to listall the possible side effects but that diesn't mean you'll experience them all.

  • Oh thank you for answering I am thinking about my discision very carefully at the moment waiting on my urologists to get back to me ..Best of luck on your journey ..
