Found this site recently and it has been a source of information and certainly helped from stopping my mind from racing.
New diagnosis from 31st March after a prostrate , all results came back fine apart from an highly elevated WBC, got to see a heamotologist in two weeks not an infection but Lymphoma which was a major shock considering at 53 I am fit healthy, never smoked ,rarely drink and never had any illness. No raised lymph glands in the usual places but CT scan booked in for 12th may to check internally.
Call from consultant tomorrow to identify what type I have (apparently there are 40) so let's hope it is treatable and I can start trying to beat this.
Strange thing is I have none of the symptons associated such as fatigue, lack of appetite, night sweats etc. Apart from a little pain in the lower back.
One positive is work have backed me all the way in allowing me to go for treatment when needed or WFH if required.
Would be interesting to hear from people in a similar position especially around chemo or radiation. Did you manage to go to work after treatment? Did you have to spend time in hospital or at home?
