Hello halofan and a warm welcome to Cancer Chat!
I am so sorry you have just found this out. It must have been a real shock to you but it's reassuring that she said she thought it was superficial. It's good that they have a treatment plan in place. Our website has useful information on the TURBT which I hope will answer some of the questions you may have. There's even a nice little video explaining everything really well which will help you prepare for the procedure.
If you have any questions about the TURBT or anything that springs to your mind, don't hesitate to give our nurses a ring on this free number 0808 800 4040 - their line is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm.
But as nothing replaces hearing from the personal accounts of others who've had the TURBT before for a bladder tumour, I will let them come and share their stories with you and I hope that they will offer you reassurance during this anxious time. I had a little look on the forum for you for past threads from other members who have had a similar diagnosis and a TURBT before and found [@Crabbers]'s post on this page. [@mofski45] has also had the TURBT and started this thread on the subject.
You're not alone and we have several members of our forum who have been diagnosed with a bladder tumour before. They will I am sure be happy to come and share their story with you.
Best wishes,
Lucie, Cancer Chat Moderator
Thankyou so much Lucie for your kind words and reassurance. I have a CT scan of kidneys bladder and ureters tomorrow , I am very frightened of the unknown, it is a worrying time. Trying to keep busy, its a bit of a rollercoater of emotions from positive , right back to the dark side.
In the end all i can do is take one day at a time.
Your reply helped me feel less alone, thankyou x
You're very welcome halofan. You're doing the right thing trying to keep busy - you are right though all you can do is take one day at a time even if it's not always easy to do so. There are useful tips on this page to help you cope while waiting for important news.
Best of luck for your CT scan tomorrow! Everything crossed for you!
Lucie
Well I had the CT scan this morning, with contrast. Its weird feeling when you get that rush of feeling hot.
It was easy enough, its more the anxiety about the results thats exhausting. 2 weeks they said. I will try really hard to forget all about it until I have to face it again.
One day at a time
Wishing you all care and peace of mind xx
Everyone is sleeping in my house , it feels very lonely lying here with my frightened thoughts. One more week till my pre op , my stomach churns when i think about it.
Its not knowing what I have to face and how I tell my son.
Its just exhausting , going to try and sleep now
goodnight and take care
I had a scope of Friday and was old I have a tumour. The urologist thinks it’s in the wall of the bladder and not outside but I’m afraid after being dismissed by my gp after a clear ultrasound I’ve lost faith.
hes also ordering a ct and now I’m thinking why ?? Does he think it’s spread
like you I’m very frightened x
