  • Hi Lara

The results are not the best.

They are sending her for a CT scan as they found more cancer growing in the breast and they have said following that she will either have to have more tissue taken out or a mastectomy. They told her they had taken 4 lymph nodes out, 1 full of cancer, 2 very faint and nothing in the 4th. I'm confused because in the initial diagnoses they said they would remove all her lymph nodes, surely she would have more than 4?
We are all really worried about the CT scan :( xx

is it cause they didn't get clear margins ?
it's common that it's found in sentil nodes I had one positive so then had 2 nd operations I asked for this to remove all 30 nodes , with this my Oncotype DX score was still so low under10 still no chemo required

please do t worry this happens a lot of the time mum will be ok

  • She spoke to her breast cancer nurse yesterday who explained everything to her and mum asked more questions, she is more clear on things now. We are a lot more positive.

There were pre cancerous cells found along with the cancer they have taken out so the breast is not stable and has to come off, she's going for a mastectomy on Friday. Apparently only 4 lymph nodes were taken because it was only the lymph nodes at the front that had had time to communicate with the breast. She had a chest x ray at the pre op for the lumpectomy which was clear, they have to do a CT scan apparently as standard procedure. My mum doesn't care about losing her breast she just wants to get better, god bless her, she's amazing, strongest woman I know. xx

    how is your mum ?
I understand the appointments are stressful and you don't take it in I used to call my breast nurse after every appointment for her to explain things better . The nurses are amazing x
