Stage 4 Kidney Cancer - which treatment should I go for?

I have been diagnosed with Stage 4 Kidney Cancer and been given some options on treatments to take to help me

1st one is Nivolumab + Ipilimumab and the 2nd is Lenvatinib and Pembrolizumab.

Has anyone been on these treatments and how has the journey been?

  • Hello Eddie1942

I'm sorry to hear about your diagnosis. It's understandable that you want to make the right decision for you going forwards with your treatment.

We have some information on our website here about the various drugs that you've mentioned and it may be helpful to have a look through some of that information.

Unfortunately I can't see that we've any members who have been recently active with the same diagnosis but hopefully, someone with experience with these treatments will reply to share their experiences with you. In the meantime, I wanted to give you the link to Kidney Cancer UK which is a cancer-specific charity and where you might be able to connect with others who have direct experience with this diagnosis/treatments.

If you'd like to chat with one of our nurses you're most welcome to give them a call. I'm sure they will be happy to offer any advice, information, and support they can ahead of you starting treatment. They're available Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm on 0808 800 4040.

I wish you well with your treatment Eddie. Do keep in touch and let us know how you get on.

    Best wishes,
