Hi yeah DCIS is slightly different. It just means it's not broken out of the duct. You will still require treatment. 

I'm IDC (invasive ductal carcinoma) with oestrogen sensitive and Hers2 neg. Stage 1 Grade 2. I'm due to have surgery on 28th with sentinel lymph node removal. Then again another wait to see if margins are clear and see what the oncotype DX score is before I know if I need chemotherapy or radiotherapy then hormone therapy. Xx

I am sorry to hear that you may be facing another bout of breast cancer in your other breast. I am glad to see that you now have an appointment for your core biopsy. Times vary from one hospital to another, depending on how busy any particular hospital is. It usually takes 1-3 weeks to get your biopsy results again depending on how busy the clinic is. There are 3 different grades of DCIS, so here's hoping that this is low grade.

I'm sorry to hear that. Good you have a full diagnosis though and know the plan. 
my worry is last time I was told I had a tumour but they didn't expect it to be anything to worry about then suddenly it's cancer so I lost all faith in them. Now look into everything they say and don't trust anything which I know is bad. 
I agree though the waiting is the worst part.

I am always better when I know what I am facing.

did they find yours via mammogram?
