im sorry to hear about your wife's diagnosis I had breast cancer last year July 22 mine was her2 negative I can't help you with diet as I'm no expert but I eat a lot of blueberries and broccoli changed to everything whole meal no white Starchy foods I now have a breakdown if I don't eat blueberries daily not sure why .

I wish you and your lovely wife the best of luck she will be fine it's just a bump in the road .

Hi Tim, sorry to hear about your partner. Hope she's coping ok. I have recently been diagnosed with oestrogen-positive breast cancer too. My sister is a dietitian and the first diet challenge she has set me is to eat seven portions of fruit and veg a day. More home cooking for me! Not sure if this is specific to breast cancer but to general health and recovery from treatment. I would also echo what Lara said - I'm trying to avoid starchy stuff and processed food. There are some good sections on the CRUK website about diet too if you haven't seen those. Best of luck with it! 

Hi Tim, sorry to hear about your partner's diagnosis. Treatments these days are excellent and very effective. Many people, including me, also cope with chemo really well as the drugs they give to deal with side effects are so good. I would say eat a balanced diet with lots of fresh fruit and veg, lean meat (chicken, turkey), fish, cut down on processed foods, saturated fats, etc. Drink lots of water, cut right back on alcohol (this makes a big difference), and try to get 75-150 minutes of exercise every week (brisk walking is great) and do a couple of sessions of strength/resistance training per week. You might want to check out the Royal Marsden Cancer Cookbook. I got a second hand copy from Amazon. Wishing you both all the best for the months ahead.

I bought a book called "What to eat if you have cancer "  there's lots on Amazon ,I bought it and then it wasn't required so I can't say what its like but it has 4 and a half stars out of 5 ,It says on the front healing foods to boost our immune system ,I hope it helps  Jenny

The evidence for diet making any difference is not good, although being overweight can be a factor. I would say eat sensibly and enjoy the odd treat. Fibre, fruit and green vegetables are good for you. Our main source of vitamin c is potatoes as we eat a lot of them. Soy has been identified by one study as good for keeping breast cancer at bay. But I don't think the evidence is conclusive on this one
