Yesterday i got my biopsy results and was told i have lymphoma. No grade, subtype or stage results as yet so feeling really anxious. I had to give more blood for blood tests and will have a PET scan in a couple of weeks. So worried

  • Hi Hannah

I am at a very similar place to you. and send you all good wishes.

May I ask how you received your biopsy results, and who from?

I am seeing the Haematologist tomorrow.and am expecting lots of test results, and hoping for information on a treatment plan. t have been given  a letter which includes the words  " confirmied B Cell Lymphoma (GI)"  - which was carelessly given to me by a nurse yesterday, so I have an idea of what is coming.

This last week I have had more bood tests; full body PET scan, MRI neck & chest; needle biopsy of neck glands and core biopsy of tonsil, so may be further updates

I am going to make some notes tonight  of questions to ask the Haemotologist at my appountment.

    I will update after tomorrow.

    TDx.

  • Hi Teddy

I was sent to a sarcoma unit as the MRI results looked like I might have a sarcoma. The biopsy confirmed it was lymphoma instead. Apparently this is not a common mistake but happens on very rare occasions. So it was the sarcoma consultant who gave me the results although all she had were the initial verbal updates from the pathologist. I'm expecting to have a full body scan by the end of this week and then have an appointment with the haematologist on Tuesday. Over the phone yesterday the haematologist told me I would get a week's worth of steroids and then 6 months of chemotherapy. I'm not sure if this will change after all the blood and PET scan results are back. Such a scary time.

Please do post an update tomorrow and i will let you know how I get on Tuesday. Hope it goes well for you.

    Sending positive energy your way.
