Scared - newly diagnosed with breast cancer

Hi

I'm 30 and have just been diagnosed with breast cancer after finding a lump around a year ago and only just getting it biopsyed. I have been for a blood test and mammogram the day I was given the news and then for an mri within 3days of being told. They done a contrast mri on my chest area and I have had a phone call from the hospital this morning to come in for another biopsy. This all sounds so bad and I just want to know if it spread any further than the breast as I have 3 young children my eldest being 7 and my youngest is 1. I've never been so scared of leaving my children in my whole life and to have to wait until the 21st which is around 2 weeks now for all results I don't know how I can cope? Has anyone else been through this and if so what do you think my chances are it's spread further than my breast?

  • Hi Rochie,

I am so sorry to hear about your diagnosis.

How did you get on with your results on 21st? It is impossible to say what your chances are from what you know so far, but here's hoping that your results have mapped a clearer pathway for you.

I have been diagnosed with 2 bouts of breast cancer. That was 13 years ago and I still lead a busy and fulfilling life. Please place your faith in your care team. Treatment can be tough, but you'll soon have it all behind you.

Please keep in touch and let us know how you get on. We are always here for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx
