Hi Hun. I'm newly diagnosed with IDC invasive Ductal carcinoma. And am having a lumpectomy on 28th this month, followed by radiotherapy and hormone therapy. As long as when they do operation and everything is tested to check for more cancer.

I am feeling a bit down tonight after seeing consultant.  I thought I had my plan as results for HER2 neg IDC were - lumpectomy, Radiotherapy and Hormone tablets now he mentioning it could be chemo - have to wait to do op and lymph node check -even though on MRI scan these were OK. Have to wait for call now for the date of OP xx

I was also told this with her2 negative but I didn't have it they just mention it to prepare you incase however I had a meltdown at that point like you .

my scans were clear for lump nodes but after my operation biopsy of sentil nodes whilst under anasestic  there was a trace in one when my results came back I was in total shock was told they looked clear  , so I had a second operstion removal Of 30 lymph nodes these came back all clear I still didn't require chemo I had the oncotyoe DX test which for me saved me from chemo and saved my mental health 

because it's mentioned it don't mean that you will have it

Thanks for quick reply Lara. I think the fact it was mentioned is what got to me -thought I had the plan and that was it but i suppose I have to get used to the fact it doesnt work like that and its going to be more testing and waiting for more results thx so much for reply xx

Ah bless you. So hard when you think things are in place and then it all changes. Unfortunately That's BC and it's curve balls again.

yes that's it they have to say it on the just incase I bought wigs spent over £2,000 getting my brows micrbladed hats lashes anything you can think of as soon as they mentioned the word and I never used them thankfully.later on ask about the Oncotype DX test mine came back chemo woykd have done more harm than good

I was same could t wait to go in but when time come I was like here we go , day before but on the morning I woke up rearing to go I felt like strong like I'm off to get you little *** gone for good , I woke up felt so relieved honestly like I'm free of it x
