Paclitaxel advice

Hi everyone 

Just recently undergone a lumpectomy and have now been told I will get Paclitaxel weekly for 12 weeks and Trastuzumab every 3 weeks for a year as HER+.

im just wanting a bit of advice off those of you who's gone through this...how did u find it? When I read all the side effects it's overwhelming!! Also cold cap? Anyone had any success with it alongside weekly Paclitaxel?

    Hi there,

    I'm sorry you're going through this at the moment! I've had my week 6 Paclitaxel today and I haven't found it too bad so far - I'm very weary, so I'm having a few naps a day for the first couple of days, then 1 nap for the others. Otherwise, the side effects have been fairly minimal, just a bit achy and forgetful, but both are easily manageable (I do wonder if I've just been very fortunate!)

    I didn't use the cold cap though, so I can't offer much help there sorry! My hair came out on day 14 after my first round of EC chemo, but is trying to grow again with the Paclitaxel.

    Thank you Amy, I hope you continue to do well on this, fingers crossed! I hope I'm the same...just a little anxious at the minute but want to get it done at the same time.
