Hi, last month we found a lump in my mum's right breast and unfortunately after a biopsy of it & if the lymph nodes we're told that it's a grade 3 triple negative breast cancer. So it's an aggressive one and incredibly scary time. They did a CT scan & neuro bone scan & mentioned that it hasn't spread to the rest of the body. They found "ground-glass opacification" in the lungs but said this is likely due to the fact that she had covid a month before breast cancer diagnosis.
anyway, first doctor told us it's probably stage 2 breast cancer but second most recent oncologist we saw told us that he wants to do a PET scan because the CT scan showed a 6mm swollen lymph node in the internal mammary gland near the breast bone. He said this is hard to biopsy.
im losing my mind because I'm so anxious because he mentioned that sometimes the PET picks up on cancer spreading to other places in a way that the CT scan/bone scan wouldn't. I'm so anxious that this is bad news and I'm not sure what to think of it. I pray it's not spread beyond the breast but this is all so heavy.
