Newly diagnosed scalp cancer

I have squamous biopsy taken on my scalp so been to 2 consultation but they have different methods for dealing with it.

furst is a normal skin graft and incision but the second wants to do a larger incision with no graft thus involving general anaesthetic and wound after. Both qualified private doctors but I don't know which to choose. I am a senior. Any suggestions?

  • Hello Th007

I'm sorry to hear about your recent diagnosis. It's understandable that you may be feeling anxious and have concerns about which approach will be the right one for you.

I'd suggest giving our team of nurses a call to chat things through with them. Whilst they won't be able to tell you what decision to make, they will be able to offer some advice, information and support as well as helping you think about the things that are important to you and if there are any other questions you want to raise with the Dr's involved in your care. If you'd like to talk with our nurses they're available Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm on 0808 800 4040.

I hope that your surgery and recovery goes smoothly.

    Best wishes,
