Feeling worried after diagnosis

Hi everyone I'm new to this forum. Hoping by talking to others in similar situation to myself may help to ease the worry a little.
i was diagnosed with breast cancer just before Christmas and have oncology appointment to discuss chemo treatment /surgery etc on Tuesday 10th January.. can't help feeling anxious about it all. Even though I had ovarian cancer surgery 3 years ago and chemo, I still can't get my head around it all again. Would love to chat to anyone about coping second time around.. thank you ️

  • Hi Essexnanny,

Avery warm welcome to our forum.

I am so sorry to hear about your diagnosis. This always comes as a shock and is difficult to take in at first. You should feel better after tomorrow, when you have a definite plan in place. I know how worrying a second cancer diagnosis can be and sincerely hope that all goes well for you. Do you know what type or grade of cancer you have?

I was first diagnosed with breast cancer 13 years ago, but had a second bout the following year. Please keep in touch and let us know how you get on. You will find this forum a great source of support, from people who really understand what you are going through. We are always here for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • Hi Jolamine, thank you for your reply and for your warm welcome.

I hope that you are continuing to remain well after your second diagnosis.

I have been told I have a triple negative cancer which is grade 2.. I was told it's very treatable and is unrelated to my last cancer which I understand is good news.

I will update on my appointment tomorrow when I know my treatment plan. Thanks again.

    Hi Essexnanny,

My life is different than it was before I was diagnosed, but I still manage to live a busy and fulfilling life, thank you. I have been so lucky to share so many milestones with my family in the past 13 years, that I feel very fortunate.

I am glad to hear that your two cancers are unrelated and hope that you are doing well after your ovarian cancer. Grade two, should be eminently treatable. You will feel better once you have your treatment plan in place.

I look forward to hearing how you get on after your appointment.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx
