Phyllodes Tumor

I am 20 and was diagnosed with a Borderline Phyllodes tumour when i was 19. I had this removed about 2 months ago (they were certain it was a fibroadenome). After removal i was diagnosed and had a second surgery within the month to get better margins. Since this surgery i did some research and found out that they often reoccur. This is something i am worried about because im not too sure if i would realise if i had a lump in the same place again. Recently the area where i had a lumpectomy has felt quite hard and not like the rest of my breast, i know this is probably scar tissue but how would i know if it was a lump? Also should i be going to the doctors more frequently now to get my breasts checked? I gave been given a follow up appointment next year but it is over the phone? If anyone can give me some advice that would be great:)

  • Hello Ella2002

I'm sorry to hear that you've recently previously been with a phyllodes tumour. It's understandable that you feel anxious about monitoring your breast health in the future.

It's good to hear that you do have a follow-up appointment arranged with the breast care team but as you're feeling worried about self-checking and monitoring things, it may be a good idea to get in touch with your GP to discuss your concerns with them. Hopefully they will be able to give you some support and advice to help you going forwards.

    Best wishes,
