Thyroid cancer & lymph nodes

Hi there,

ive been diagnosed with thyroid cancer that has spread to my lymph nodes in my neck. It's all going to be removed in an upcoming operation.

For months running up to my diagnosis I had active lymph nodes throughout my body from my perminant ones in my neck down to fluctuating ones in my groin armpits and stomach. Has anyone else had the same issues with their lymph nodes? I'm starting to get a bit worried now as this doesn't seem to be a common characteristic

  • Hello hedgehog222,

I am sorry to hear about your diagnosis and I hope that the operation will be successful. There is information on our website on thyroid cancer and you can read more about the surgery on this page.

I hope that you will hear from other forum members who have also experienced similar issues with lymph nodes and that they will share their story with you.

Our nurses are available on this free number 0808 800 4040 if there is anything you would like to ask them ahead of your surgery or if you would like to talk things through with them. Their line is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm.

Best of luck for your operation - I hope it all goes well for you!

    Best wishes,
