Bowel cancer and getting nowhere regarding treatment

Hi. I'll try to keep my post as brief as I can. A friend of mine was diagnosed with bowel cancer in August 22. After yet another round of blood tests and sigmoidoscopy biopsies taken, MRI scan done she was told she has stage 3 bowel cancer. The drawing in the letter confirms there are 3 tumours - 1 at the start of the large bowel and 2 nearer to the rectum. She saw a doctor with her daughter and myself yesterday and was told the test already done are inconclusive and all need to be repeated.  Why she wasn't called back before the appointment yesterday is beyond me, so now she waits again, its already been 3 months since she was first seen. I should mention she has been treated in the past for breast cancer,  has osteoporosis and weighs about 6 and a half stone. The blood test shows she has very high calcium levels and WBC. My question is what can we do to get the tests done quicker, its a 6 week wait to see her gp. Her daughter can afford to pay privately, should we consider going  privately as she is becoming very unwell the more this drags on. Should we speak to a specialist nurse on here. I really am at a loss about what to do,  any advice gratefully received.  Thank you for reading
