Just diagnosed with CLL

Hi all, in the last week I have been diagnosed with CLL at the age of 55. I'm just wondering if others within this group have this diagnosis.

  • Hello Stringsa and welcome to our forum,

I am sorry to hear about your recent diagnosis - there must be a lot for you to take in at the moment and I wanted you to know that you are not alone and our forum is there for you to support you and help you find others who have had a similar diagnosis. I had a little look around our forum and found for example [@Whittonian]‍ 's thread which might be of interest to you. This member was also diagnosed a few months ago with CLL and was at the time looking for information on what to expect. Perhaps you two can connect and share insights and experiences. It could also be useful to you to have a look at the CLL support charity which will be able to connect you perhaps with local and online groups specific to CLL.

I thought I would share with you our information on chronic lymphocytic leukaemia and if you had any questions and wanted to talk to someone about anything, feel free to call our cancer nurses on this free number 0808 800 4040 - their line is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm.

I hope that you will hear from others who have had this diagnosis and that they will share their story with you. Hopefully you will soon have a treatment plan in place and I hope that it will be a success.

    Best wishes,

  • Hello

I have not yet been diagnosed, though I do have lymphoytosis which has been increasing and decreasing for a good number of years. It does not ever fall back to normal and is always over 4'000 currently 5'000 and I haven't been sick.

So I am hoping to see the doctor this week and get some answers.

How are you feeling since diagnosis?

I hope you are just fine and staying positive.
