Biopsy cancelled

Hello,

a family member recently got diagnosed with cancer which has spread to

two

organs.  They had a planned biopsy date but this has not been cancelled and now only has an appoint with primary cancer consultant?  I'm worried this is not good news as I can't understand why they would cancel the biopsy.

    A very warm welcome to our forum.

    I can understand your worries. It is impossible to get any answers, by trying to second guess the reason for this. It could be due to something as simple as staffing problems.

    How soon is the appointment to see the primary care consultant? Please keep in touch and let us know how your family member gets on. We are always here for you both.

    Thank you.  The CT scan was last week and his appointment is Friday.  The biopsy was scheduled for Thursday.  
     

    Trying to keep positive but I've been on so many cancer websites that it's difficult based on the smallest detail we know.  Going to be a long wait for Friday.

    Hi Careleb,

    It is really impossible to know what to look for until you have more detail. Unfortunately, changes to appointments are a frequent occurrence and, our minds nearly always tend to go into overdrive whilst we are waiting for clarification.

    It will feel like a long wait until Friday. Try to keep busy in the meantime to take your mind off this. No amount of worry will alter the outcome. 

    Thinking of you both and hoping that things turn out better than you are expecting.
