NHL Follicular stage 4

Hi,

my partner has just been diagnosed and is starting R-CHOP next week. I have been going to hiss appointments with him but work have now said I won't get paid for the times I was hoping I could take him and collect him from chemo. I am going to appeal but he has said he will just drive.

I'm wondering how others have felt after their treatment and if they were able to drive immediately after. I really don't want him to but we may have no other option.

thanks x

  • Hello Lealeah

I'm sorry to hear about your partner's diagnosis and that work aren't particularly supportive at the moment for you. It's already a difficult time and undoubtedly this is an additional worry that you don't need.

Hopefully, you and your employer may be able to come to a mutually agreeable arrangement that means you can take your partner to his treatment appointments if necessary.

I know that we have some members who have had R-CHOP and hopefully they will post to share their experiences with you. Not everyone experiences every side effect so it may be that your partner feels up to driving to and from his appointments but if he isn't well enough, and you're not able to be there with him, then do encourage him to talk to the chemo unit as they should be able to arrange patient transport with the ambulance service.

I hope that his first treatment next week goes smoothly. Keep in touch and let us know how you're both doing.

    Best wishes,
