Hello. I am new to this site.

My husband has just been diagnosed with a carcinoid tumour in his stomach. He is currently in hospital and has been referred  to Oncology by the colorectal consultant. We have a cruise booked for 5 October 2022, and it seems unlikely we will be able to go it, as it's a fly cruise to LasVegas. We were wondering if it is possible that his tumour could be removed in surgery. Has anyone experienced this type of tumour and able to shed any light on what treatments could be offered to help his life span.

  • Hello CherylG

I'm sorry to hear about your husband's diagnosis. It's obviously a very difficult time for you both and understandable that you have lots of questions about what treatments may be available.

Hopefully, he won't have to wait too long to see the Oncologist and between the Consultants, they will be able to come up with a treatment plan.

In the meantime, I wonder I you might find it useful to have a chat with our team of nruses? I'm sure they will be happy to talk things through with you and offer any advice, information, and support that they can. They're available Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm on 0808 800 4040.

Keep in touch Cheryl and let us know how you're both doing.

    Best wishes,
