Are you having a Picc line for Chemo, I have just completed my Chemo for Breast Cancet. I had a line put in.

I can honestly say it does not hurt at all, it's good because you won't have to have a Canula which are painful and you get to see your nurse one a week when they flush it. Also your bloods are done from it

Thqnk you! My biggest worry is that with cqnulas my veins have a tendency to blow. Especially when flushing. Does that happen with the PICC line? I know I'm silly to worry but anything to do with needles, blood, veins, all that, I get so anxious :sad:

Hi no, so they insert a tiny tube into a main vein at the top of you arm. They find the vein with an ultrasound, it's not a vein you can see, the tiny tube gets fed in and stays there. It sounds worse than it is, but it's by far better than a canula xxx

Ahhh ok, so less risk of the vein collapsing then. Thank you for telling me all this. It's sort of alleviating my anxiety but also not, at the same time :laugh: :cry: Thank you for being so kind to take the time to reply, I do appreciate it very much. It's a scary time at the moment and I'm grasping for the least bit of comfort. I know you understand xx

Hi you will feel frightened I can remember that feeling well, the unknown is the worst, I finished my chemo for breast Cancer on the 24th April and had 8 sessions of Radiotherapy, I'm on the other side now. You can do this, Chemo isn't as bad you think you will get your life back before you know it . Xxx
