All by phone!

After a Histeroscopy and endometrial biospy I was told kindly and with heavy hints by the consultant it looked suspicious. No surprise two days later to get a call confirming her hints.

Now waiting for my surgery in a week, I had all the usual scans etc . It feels odd I have never met a single Doctor since the biopsy , nor do I have any letter or paperwork other than a pile of booklets posted by the CNS, who i also haven't met.  I don't expect a certificate or special treatment but it does feel a bit odd.

Even the surgeon phoned, no face to face meeting to discuss, and while I was given the opportunity to ask questions it isn't quite the same as being in front of someone to ask more details .

Is this all on the phone normal? Thank you

  • Hi Pamjam,

I can understand this feeling a little strange not having seen anyone in person in a while. It may simply be a preference of your hospital, although more is being done currently on the phone than may have been the case in the past. It may mean that things have been done a little more quickly for you, but I appreciate it would have been nice to have seen someone.

Hopefully you have the opportunity to meet your doctor/specialist face to face soon, and to talk things through.

    Wishing you all the best,

    Ben
