Therapeutic mammoplasty for invasive ductal carcinoma

Hi everyone,

I'm due for surgery in two weeks to remove a 4cm tumour with mammoplasty and remove all lymph nodes in the area. They think two nodes are affected. I've had a CT scan and it hasn't spread anywhere else thankfully.

Hoping they get clear margins so I can move onto chemo and then radiotherapy and hormone drugs.

Hoping everyone's treatment is a success ️

  • Hello Crumbled,

I hope that surgery in two weeks is a success.  There is information on therapeutic mammoplasty on this page and if you'd like to talk things through with one of our cancer nurses, don't hesitate to give them a call on this free number 0808 800 4040 - their line is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm.

It's good news though that the CT scan has shown no spread. I hope that your treatment works well and is a success. I've had a little look around the forum to find others who may have had therapeutic mammoplasty before and found [@LadyErry]‍'s thread here which may be of interest to you. Hopefully it will help to read about the treatment experiences of others who have been in a similar place before.

Best of luck for your treatment and best wishes,
