Just diagnosed with bowel cancer at 24

Hi everyone. This morning i have been diasgnosed with bowel cancer. I feel suprisingly ok as my doctor thinks the progonosis is very good, and I should live a happy and normal life. They believe they have caught the cancer early enough so that surgery and chemo aren't needed. He thinks the polyp can be removed via a colonoscopy (sorry I'm unsure on the terminology)

before this can be removed, I'm going to have to go for some tests to see if the cancer has spread! I'm feeling a bit anxious about this, and was wondering if anyone has any experience with early bowel cancer? thank you

  • Hi Leigh, I'm so sorry about your diagnosis, especially since you are so young. How are you feeling now?

I'm so glad that the doctor thinks the prognosis is very good and that they believe that it's early enough to not require surgery or chemo. You deserve to live a happy and normal life.

It must be difficult waiting to find out if it has spread. I hope those in similar situations to you reach out and tell you about their experiences.
