Hi All, i was diagnosed with grade 2 invasive ductal breast cancer in December 2021 after a lumpectomy in January and sentinel node biopsy (negative thankfully) i had a further lumpectomy in March due to positive DCIS margins found whilst removing the invasive. I then had a mastectomy with implant reconstruction at the end of April due to close margins. There has been lots of issues with my results/surgeon not being very clear in his response. It turns out i have residual invasive cancer cells in the front margin after the mastectomy- bascially meaninng the cancer cells went right to the front of my breast - techinally a positive margin. They have offered me radiotherapy ( classing it as an over treatment) but i just cant relax that the cancer might still be there however small! Im taking tamoxifen which ive been on for a couple of months now. I have a BRCA2 gene mutation so need to have the other side done too. Im so torn and was hoping to find someone who has been through something similar? Im only 34 and have 2 young daughters so i want what is best for survival not looks. Im so annoyed its taken all these months and so much surgery and i still dont feel out of the woods. Thanks x
