  • Hello Heartstring

I'm sorry to hear that your Dad has recently undergone surgery and that he's now facing radiotherapy. It's good to hear that his recovery so far is going well despite a few ups and downs. Hopefully by the time his radiotherapy starts get will be feeling well and in good health for the treatment.

I've had a look through the forum and can see that we've only had one gentleman who has previously posted about a pelvic exenteration. Unfortunately, he's not posted on the forum for quite some time now.

We do have some information on our website about SABR that you may find helpful and if you use the forum search function (magnifying glass in the blue bar towards the top of the page) to search for the term "Stereotactic radiotherapy" you'll find quite a few posts where this treatment has been mentioned.

I'd also encourage you to give our team of nurses a call and chat things through with them. I'm sure they will be happy to offer any advice, information, and support that they can. They're available Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm on 0808 800 4040.

I wish your Dad well for this next phase of his treatment. Keep in touch and let us know how you both get on over the coming weeks and months.

    Best wishes,
