Thank you. I am in waiting room waiting for him to come out of first radiation. How are you doing? 

What chemo did you get? How is your treatment? 

My husband has radiation with capecitabine tablets along the way. From Monday to Friday for 28 times. We had 4 sessions now. It's going ok so far. But lots of ups and downs in his mood. 

It was the oxtoplactin (think that what it's called. Got that every 3 weeks then tablets in between for 2 weeks for 4 rounds so I think 12 weeks in total. Then I will have radiation for 5 days a week for 5 weeks then surgery.

that's the plan at the moment.

Interesting that the treatments are different.

So far he seems ok. No side effects yet. Radiation and these chemo tablets for 6 weeks. He has to take tablets only on radiation days. 

Then they said about 6 - 8 weeks break or so followed by surgery and then 6 months chemo.

He is dreading surgery as they told us he will need a stoma. I think he dreads that the most. 

His final diagnosis was stage 3. 

My husband had wonderful results. While they can not be sure yet (it's still too close to last radiation) they are calling it near complete metabolic response. From 8.7 cm tumor to 7 mm of something they are not sure what is it because FDG uptake on PET/CT scan was minimal. Could be residual tumor or residual radiation. We will repeat it after 3 months. We are thinking if wait and watch till then - our oncologist is still pushing surgery leading to permanent stoma. 

We dont even know what to do with result. Of course we are happy with it but we also know it is too early to celebrate? When do you even celebrate once you fall into cancer world?
