I saw a BBC report today, with a quote from the Cancer Research CEO, about a tragic case of delayed bladder cancer diagnosis. This is significant to me as I have recently had a bladder cancer diagnosis, cystectomy and am currently undergoing chemo.
This is second time around for me. Each time it was 5 months from presenting symptoms to the GP to the start of treatment. My recent operation took place within a month of me becoming inoperable, in the opinion of the surgeon.
I have strong views about the approach being taken to diagnosis currently by GPs. Is anyone aware please of any initiatives being considered to reduce diagnosis delays? I would like to contribute.
