Peritoneal malignancy

Hello  I went in hospital to have my appendix out in Jan I got told it was abit tricky to get out but manage to do it through key hole surgery then I had appointments to attend I thought it was for diverticulitis didn't think anything of it in March I had a phone call couldn't hear very well as I was out and about then I had an endoscopy they were asking if I'm OK I said yes I'm good til the doc came in and said cancer everything just went blank couldn't hear wheat she was saying they took biopsy that came back good then u got called in to see my doctor at hospital I was thinking all good news everything bee good but it wasn't I got told where my appendix was I have tumours there is rare he contacted London coz no where here can do the surgery London speacialist rang me to do a consultant on the phone he confirmed it is cancer the best option is is major surgery where they take my lining of my stomach out my right colan and both ovaries out I be have a hot was chemo too this is all scary I feeling lost in myself don't know how to tell people

    Welcome to Cancer Chat. I'm sorry to hear what you're going through - I'm sure this must have all been quite a shock and a lot to take in. It sounds like you may still be waiting for more information about the situation and next steps. When you next speak to your doctor/specialist, try to make a note of what they say - and if you think of any questions in the meantime, write these down so you remember to ask everything.

    Take things slowly and one day at a time if you can. You can of course take your time telling people depending on what you prefer. Perhaps you can start with telling a couple of close friends or family. Do reach out to others for support as much as you can though, as it tends to help to speak to others.
