Hi San it is very common for counts to drop during chemo that is why you have bloods take before each cycle. The blood results give a clear indication of how your body is coping with the chemo and initiates appropriate treatment such as transfusions or sometimes injections depending on which type of count is low.
Maybe have a word with your breast care nurse she will be able to advise you.
All the best with the rest of your treatment. I finished chemo two weeks ago and am recovering very well.

Hi San,
I had my first round of Docetaxel last week and was told l needed to come back the next day for a blood transfusion because of a very low blood count, caused by Chemo.
Im usually coming back to 'normal' for a week a least and the days following up to my treatment, but this time l felt very tired and breathless. I felt well for a couple of days, then the effects of the Chemo kicked in and l was in bed for 3 days in agony and breathless when l had to go to the loo. I'm a lot better now thought l am taking things very slowly. I am told if my blood count is still low, l will need another transfusion the day after my next cycle again.
How are you feeling now?
