Hysterectomy worries

I had an emergency hyterectomy 5 weeks ago due to twisted ovarian cyst. Turns out both ovaries contained cancer. Everything removed and had diagnosis last week. Scared of it all but still getting over the operation. Not sure if twinges and odd pains are normal , anyone in the same situation ?

  • I had my overies removed last October complex cysts, they found extensive adhesions that they spent 4 1/2 hours removing. The scar was huge similar to a hysterectomy scar, it's taken a while to get back to normal l still need to be careful with lifting or it pulls. I would say the twinges and pains are completely normal at the moment. Don't overdo it to soon.  I had a hysterectomy years ago it took ages to get over .
sorry to hear that you have cancer in the overies are you going to have treatment for that?

l hope you are better soon take care

  • Hi Susie

I've got chemo starting May 11th and getting a strong dose  so dreading the side effects

    Caz

  • The twisted overies may have saved your life especially as you were not being treated for them. My enlarged overies were found on a colonoscopy l didn't have a clue about them apart from pain on left side of my abdomen. I had a call from colorectal saying we have referred you to gynaecology oncology, fortunately they have been able to operate through the Covid restrictions, my op was within 8 weeks, having been told by the dr in clinic that they would not operate on non cancerous cysts the actual surgeon, said she would and booked my surgery.
I hope the side effects of the chemo are not too severe at least it's a limited amount of doses, l hope you are able to get support from you family and friends, it definitely helps. I would take offers of help.

    best wishes to you,

l hope the chemo  solves any ongoing issues
