scan day

hi all 

 

yesturday had call from nuclear medince about my scan today 12pm , apprenty they have had cancellations and i can change my time to 9.30 which i said yes 

im having nm whole body scan , then on saturday i having a ct scan of upper body with contrast 

then i get another call my appointment with consultant that was planned on 11th to discuss scan results what stage what my options are has been moved to 25th april 

im so annoyed as this has been on going since i woke up with pain on 6th february , and found the lump/ mass 

so again ive had to cancel my physio first appoint , as my letter says aviod under 16 children and pregnant women 

and its my 49+1 birthday tomorrow 

i have been telling all my family and friends that i have cancer  as when i start treatment and if it effects me saves me from explaining why i look ill etc and its making my friends think about checking them selves 

had my coil removed friday as it been over 5 years and on monday i had my period , so my mood is bit low and im feeling more tired that usual

    A belated happy 49+1 birthday for yesterday. I hope that amongst all the upheaval and uncertainty you were able to celebrate the day with family and friends. 

    You've had so much going on recently that it's understandable that you're on a bit of an emotional rollercoaster at the moment. We know that waiting for tests and results can be a difficult time for many people. It can sometimes help to talk things through and I wonder if you might find it helpful to chat with one of our nurses. I'm sure they will be happy to offer any support that they can. If you'd like to speak with them they're available Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm on 0808 800 4040. 

    Hopefully your CT scan tomorrow will bring the last pieces of information together for the Consultant and you'll have some answers within a few weeks.

    awww thank you , yes i did woke up to banners and ballons outside , gifts etc 

     

    yes scan number 2 today less worred as i have had ct scans before , ive been speaking to my breast nurse and have noted the number given 

    what with covid , retirment staff holidays its within my local health board its not the best times :( 

    but they are trying to get my scans read on monday if not i have to wait for 25th april , when i woke up on 6th feb , its more frustration than worry with myself and the unknown

    Hi Lady-penelope,

    I am sorry to hear that you have had to have further scans and that your appointment with the consultant has been put back to 25th April. I can understand your frustration about this, but our carers need a break occasionally too.

    just frustrated , found lump 6th feb 

     

    i have been open to everyone i know about my cancer , as i rather them know now then ask me if/ when i get sick , dont know stage / grade or what or how treatment i will recieve , on plus side my firends are now checking them selves

    Thank you for the update.

    I am so sorry to hear this - certainly not the news you wanted. I expect that your consultant will discuss these points when you see him on 25th April. I am glad that your nurse phoned you today. Even bad news is better than no news at all. You will find that the more open and positive you can be about your cancer the better your family and friends will cope with your diagnosis.

    I am sure that you are feeling pretty shell shocked at the moment, but I hope that you have plenty of support around you. You can beat this!
