Gallbladder cancer adenocarcinoma

Hello. I’m new to this site and trying to navigate it with difficulty. A dear friend of mine suddenly diagnosed with stage 4 gallbladder and bile duct cancer. Metal stent now in place. Usual 2 chemo drugs - gemcitabine and cisplatin . I know this sounds quite dismal but I am really interested to hear survival stories or at least some life prolongation. He is only 49 with 2 small kids and I want him to keep fighting. Any lifestyle and diet choices etc really welcome. Thank You so much!

  • Hello Seraphim

I'm sorry to hear about your friend's diagnosis. It's obviously a difficult time for you all and understandable that you want to have some positive stories to share with him.

I'm unsure if we've any members active at the moment with experience of gallbladder cancer but hopefully if we do they will post to share their experiences with you.

I know that many of our members here will agree that regardless of diagnosis, approaching things with a positive attitude really can help so I hope that your friend is able to take your support and use that to help keep him motivated during his treatment.

If you'd like to chat with our nurses at any point you're welcome to call them on 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm. I'm sure they will be happy to offer any advice, information, and support that they can.

    Best wishes,
