Asked back for urgent ultrasound, after…

I'm a male in my mid-60s. Diagnosed with metastic prostate cancer. I have 4 spots of metastasis in my ribs and shoulder, they needed to be seen with a PET scan. It has spread (in a contained manner to my bones, but was told no involvement with any major organs). Started hormone therapy and my PSA has gone down from 60 to .4 in weeks which I felt was good news. Got a call tonight with an urgent request from my oncologist for a new Ultrasound. Could it be possible something has been missed by all these people and many months later? Has anyone had experience like this? Thanks.

  • Welcome to Cancer Chat, IamPWills88.

I'm sorry to hear that you have been diagnosed with metastatic prostate cancer but I'm glad that the hormone therapy managed to lower your PSA to 4.

As for your question about the request for a new ultrasound, hopefully, others who had a similar experience will come along shortly to chat with you and offer insight. Until then, if you feel like speaking with one of our nurses might help, please know they're available Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m on this freephone 0808 800 4040.

    With best wishes,
