I'm sorry to hear you have been through Cervical cancer twice. And thank you for your offer of help, I am a bit confused after my biopsy results as from my smear I got hpv positive, severe abnormal pre cancerous cells (for the 5 time also had 3 loops) and this time they said was cancerous cells too, (my smear was 2 different samples  one on the surface of what left of my cervix and the other was into the cervical canal) when I went to colposcopy after smear result the DR took 2 cervical biospies, got those results today and he said good news No cancerous cells in the biopsy but shows endometriosis, so I asked how did they get cancerous cells on smear but not biopsy and his reply was " I think it was most probably endometriosis cells on the smear!" Which I don't understand how a mix up woth cells could be made? I do have symptoms of CC too and also symptoms towards uteruial cancer too,

I can understand your confusion following your results, and think you should get the doctor to clarify how the cells could have been confused.

Biopsies normally just take a small tissue sample, and the smear does a sweep of the cervix.. The biopsy should be the definitive result, not the smear, but the point is that at some stage some cancerous cells have been identified.

Endometriosis isn’t cancer, so even if the smear were contaminated with cells from the womb, where have the cancerous cells come from? 

In your position I wouldn’t just accept this. Either there are cancerous cells or there aren’t. I think you need to get much clearer answers than you have done so far, and clearly you are concerned about your symptoms. Have you got a further appointment arranged? x

I think you should also clarify things regarding your hysterectomy. If it was to be done for cervical cancer, it’s only done for early stage cervical cancer, but if you don’t actually have cervical cancer, then why would you have a hysterectomy? 

I think you just need to make sure you are very clear about exactly what your diagnosis is, whether you have cancer at all, and what the reason for the hysterectomy is. x

Hi I was referred for a hysterectomy last year due to reoccurring severe abnormal cells along with hpv positive and I've also had 3 loops done and it still keeps reoccurring, also have think lining on the womb and possible uterus polyp but they couldn't see due to cervix being scarred too much to have a hysterectomy done last just, so while waiting for hysterectomy due to covid it waiting time longer I had another smear which the results was again high grade abnormalities hpv positive plus they said invasive cell changes and saod they was cancerous, so that was why I had the biopsy, and now he said it endometriosis. Due to the smear results he expedited my op and a priority 2 instead of 3 and I've just got a date today for 31st March and also mri on 17th March x 

Ah, I understand. I imagine you won’t have much cervix left if you had 3 previous loops. However, are you aware that the hysterectomy will not get rid of the HPV? The HPV causes the abnormal cells, which the hysterectomy will sort out, but you can still get abnormal cells after a hysterectomy, on the vaginal cuff, vulva etc, so it’s unfortunately not quite a cure for everything. x

No I don't have much cervix left and the dr struggled to get the biopsy too so that also makes me wonder if he got enough to pick up the cancerous cells that the smear did, and yes he said yesterday if my cervix still shown severe abnormalities then I would need a couple of smears of the top of the vagina to make sure they show normal x
