Hi, I had a lumpectomy 1Dec 2021.. recovered really well. After 2 months my breast started to be slightly larger and there is now some red and blue under the nipple and the bottom of the breast (away from the location of the tumour - closer to the chest bone) this was not present for the first 2 months after the surgery... so we cannot say that is was postsurgical swelling. I looks like a big bruising 40x40mm) Also 1 sentinel node was removed - this healed well with some cording couple of weeks after the surgery... Last week i went to see the breast surgeon and she said this is early lymphedema and that I should start wearing post-surgical bra AGAIN and massage from the bottom of the breast towards the armpit.
"There was mild erythema at the inferior right breast compatible with early breast lymphoedema changes. There was mild pain at the chest wall at the site of the previous cancer without any evident collection."
Is it possible that the lymph liquid started to collect at the bottom of my boob due to the gravitation? What else can I do so it disappears? I am due to start radiotherapy and worry that radiation can make it worse. Any tips. Thank you
