Try not to worry. I had a Stage 1 melonoma in 2003. It was excised with a small ring of surrounding tissue. 3 stitches. Check-ups at 1 month, 3 months, then every 6 months for 5 years. No re-occurrance. Stage 1 and in situ - you caught it early, well done.

Thank you for your reply. I felt ok on the day I was diagnosed but over the past few days I have just become so anxious. I have about 13-15 stitches in both wounds already and they are doing further surgery so I expect even more stitches. Tbh the scars are not my worry. I think it's suddenly realising you've been told you have cancer. I can't get my head around it just now. The internet has definitely not helped but I can't help looking.  I need to hear positive stories like yourself.
