Hello,
I had a Biltateral Masectomy with Resconstruction late last year and hoped that would be the end of my journey. Sadly, when they examined what was removed they found the following:
Lesion 1, grade 1 invasive ductal carcinoma.ouble
Lesion 2, grade 2 invasive lobularouble carcinoma
The consultant initialy recommended losing a large part of the breast/Tissue and the removal of my implant that was just put in but but they are not getting plastics in to see if there is a different way to do this all at the same time and keep the implant. Its not a nice time, especially as from what they are saying the risk is really low and in all cases I am going to be on Tamaxofin regardles as the both respond to hormones.
I am left gutted as I was starting to come to terms with my new look and now its being taken away. I could choose to ignore this as the risk is low and the breast tissue has already been removed but I will always have the doubt in the back of my head that I am on the wrong side of the percentages.
The part I feel cheated on is I had a lumpectomy 8 years ago and had the usual radio afterwards. What I was not told was that you can only have Radio one so the normal route of blasting the area with Radio post opp is no longer an option! I wish I had pushed hard now when I was first diagnosed.
Anyone else been through a similar story?
