Mri scan for invasive lobular breast cancer

Hi got my results back today I have been diagnosed with invasive lobular breast cancer. I have to have MRI scan to find out the size . Anyone else had to do this .

  • You are at a tough part of your journey but I found talking to people on here really helped. I can see my support buddy, Christine has also commented on your thread. I found being able to chat to people who were going through or had been through similar journeys, so helpful.

  • The CT is because the area is large I am at higher risk that the cancer may have spread. Also need a blood test before CT. The MRI also shows an area for further investigation. The scans are to make sure they have all the information to agree a treatment plan rather than start and then have to change. Waiting is hard but I am treating each test/scan as another step on the path closer  to the end goal. Hope all goes well for you x

  • I have just had a diagnoses of invasive lobular breast cancer. Awaiting Breast MRI to confirm sizes and if in one or both breasts. Clinical impression is 3x 4 cm in right breast. Ultrasound showed 16 mm. Apparently MRI will provide better more accurate sizing before deciding on treatment plan. I have stomach pain radiating into my back and am hoping a ct scan will be offered as this would either reassure me, allay fears of another cancer or confirm my fears that maybe there is cancer in stomach or pancreas. I really am scared and fearful that something will be missed.I appreciate your positive outlook. Hoping I can get a similar outlook.
